Licence medical: what to disclose about glasses and medication
Tell the certifying doctor about vision aids, health conditions and medication; do not change or stop treatment on your own.
At a licence medical visit, tell the doctor which glasses or contact lenses you use, your health conditions and current medication. The professional assesses the requirements and may request further checks or refer you to the CML; do not withhold information or stop medication on your own.
Give accurate information
The visit checks the physical and mental requirements for driving. Bring prescribed glasses or contact lenses and explain whether you need them in daily life or while driving. Describe medicines you take and, if requested, the dose and any effects on alertness or vision. Do not change a dose or stop treatment to influence the result; talk to your treating doctor instead.
The authorised certifying doctor decides whether further examinations or medical documents are needed. In some clinical situations that may raise doubts about fitness, MIT provides for referral to the Local Medical Commission. A referral is not itself a refusal: it allows an appropriate assessment. Prepare relevant reports and ask which ones are necessary for your case rather than bringing an unrelated medical file.
Understand any licence conditions
If the licence is issued with a condition related to vision or another matter, check the code and its meaning before driving. Wear glasses or contact lenses when the document requires them and keep necessary aids available. If the medical opinion or validity period is unclear, ask the doctor or office to explain it rather than interpreting the code yourself.
A medical visit is not a theory test, and an app cannot assess fitness. Quiz Patente Ufficiale lets you review rules and exam questions, but a qualified professional makes the medical decision. Also report significant health changes according to the duties that apply to your licence and follow official guidance. Your safety and other road users’ safety depend on accurate information, not on rehearsed answers for the visit.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale helps review B theory through chapters, quizzes, explanations, mistake review and statistics; medical fitness is assessed by a doctor.
