CAP KA: which motorcycle licence does it accompany, and when is it needed?

CAP KA concerns specified transport services using vehicles that require A1, A2 or A; it differs from KB for B1 or B.

MIT links CAP KA to vehicles requiring an A1, A2 or A licence for the specified taxi or chauffeur services. It lists age 21, a valid matching licence, first-aid training and an examination.

KA accompanies motorcycle categories

CAP is a professional certificate added to an ordinary driving licence. The MIT says KA concerns vehicles requiring A1, A2 or A; KB concerns vehicles requiring B1 or B. The certificate may be required for the taxi and chauffeur-hire services covered by the rules. Before assuming that a particular motorcycle service requires KA, check the rules that apply to its vehicle and activity.

For KA, the MIT page lists a valid licence in the corresponding category, age 21 and proof of successful attendance at a first-aid course. It also provides for a theory examination at the motor vehicle office, along with an application and supporting documents. CAP does not replace an A licence or authorise a motorcycle beyond the limits of the category already held.

The certificate is not a service permit

Holding KA is not the same as receiving a municipal taxi licence or chauffeur-hire authorisation. CAP concerns the driver's qualification; other titles and permits may depend on the local authority, activity and vehicle. Likewise, CAP does not grant access to a higher A category: if a vehicle requires A2 or A, the driver must hold that category.

Before applying, check the category in the vehicle documents, the service you plan to provide and any additional professional or administrative conditions. The ministry page describes the certificate route; ask the competent local office about local steps.
