Requirements
DSA and a B licence: how to request audio support for the theory test
Candidates with a DSA diagnosis can request the theory-test accommodations set by MIT by submitting the required documentation.
Candidates with specific learning disorders (DSA) can request accommodations for the theory test, including audio support for the questions and additional time provided by the MIT decree. Submit the diagnostic certificate through the channel specified by the motorisation office and confirm that the accommodation is registered for your session.
Available accommodations
MIT has established specific measures for candidates with specific learning disorders. For the driving theory test, the Ministry provides a computer-based system with an audio file for the questions and additional time compared with the ordinary test. MIT’s page also says that while the audio file is unavailable, an oral test may be allowed on request and with motorisation-office authorisation. Confirm the current operational arrangements with your UMC before choosing a test date.
To access these accommodations, you need the diagnostic certificate required by the rules and must submit it as instructed by the office. MIT simplified the documentation by accepting a diagnosis certificate issued by the National Health Service; do not assume an informal statement or an unrelated report is sufficient. Ask whether the diagnosis must be attached to the application, sent in advance or shown when booking, and keep confirmation of your request.
Request and confirm the support
Contact the UMC managing the test and state that you are requesting DSA accommodations. Specify the licence category, expected date and support covered by the current procedure. Ask whether audio is available at that location and whether authorisation or a dedicated session is required. Do not wait until test day to mention the need: the office must associate the documentation with your booking and arrange the accommodation.
An app can help you practise questions and explanations, but it does not provide the official exam audio or replace an authorised accommodation. You can practise with accessible study materials and then sit the test using the tools confirmed by the UMC. If the request is refused or the accommodation is missing from the notice, ask for written clarification before attending. The measures change access to the test, not the syllabus or assessment of other eligibility requirements.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale helps you practise B theory with chapters, quizzes, explanations, mistake review and statistics; request official DSA accommodations from the UMC.
