Category C at 18: ordinary or accelerated CQC course?
The category C route at 18 requires the ordinary initial goods CQC course; distinguish it from the accelerated route and its age conditions.
To use the age exception for category C at 18, you need the goods CQC obtained through the ordinary initial course and before the category C practical test. An accelerated course does not meet the same category C requirement.
The route to category C at 18 uses the ordinary course
The driver qualification decree distinguishes ordinary and accelerated initial courses and links them to different ages and categories. The MIT page for C permits the reduction to age 18 for candidates who complete the required goods CQC qualification and obtain the CQC before the practical test. Under the applicable rule, the category C route at 18 requires ordinary initial training; do not confuse it with the accelerated route provided for other circumstances and age thresholds.
Ask your training provider to identify clearly which course you are taking and which categories it qualifies you for. Check the syllabus, final examination and actual issue of the CQC. Enrolment, partial attendance or an exam booking is not the same as obtaining the qualification. Before scheduling the C practical test, the UMC must be able to verify a valid CQC and the reduced-age requirement.
Compare the qualifications and sequence
Category C and the CQC are separate qualifications. The licence allows you to drive a vehicle according to its mass and category; the CQC confirms professional qualification for goods transport. Both may be needed for work and each follows its own route. Do not assume an accelerated-course CQC can be substituted for the ordinary one for the category C age exception without official confirmation.
Before committing time and money, check the rules in force for your age, category and date with MIT, the UMC or an accredited provider. Ask for written confirmation of the course type, final qualification and the date by which the CQC must be obtained. Then schedule C theory, the practical test and documents in the specified order. If your goal is another category, such as C1, or a role with specific requirements, age and course rules may differ; follow the relevant information rather than extending this rule automatically.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale offers study and quizzes for goods CQC: review chapters, take exam quizzes, revisit mistakes and follow statistics. The ordinary course and category C test take place through authorised providers and offices.
