Licence medical: what to tell the doctor about glasses and medication
Tell the certifying doctor about visual aids, relevant conditions and medication; do not stop treatment for the visit.
At a licence medical, tell the certifying doctor which glasses or visual aids you use, any relevant health conditions and the medication you take. Do not stop treatment on your own; the doctor assesses your situation.
Give the doctor complete information
The fitness examination assesses the physical and mental requirements for driving. The authorised doctor therefore needs accurate information about visual aids, medication and any condition that may be relevant. Bring the glasses or contact lenses you normally use and mention whether your prescription has changed. When asked, give the medicine name, dose and reason for treatment; bring an up-to-date list or information from your clinician if you might forget details.
Do not stop or change medication before the visit because you fear its effect on the decision. A change without medical advice may be harmful and does not guarantee any result. If you are concerned about effects on driving, ask the prescribing clinician and certifying doctor how to document the situation. Fitness is decided by the authorised doctor or, where required, the Local Medical Commission.
Prepare records without self-assessing
Before your appointment, ask whether specialist reports, prescriptions or updated glasses details are needed. Bring the requested records and answer accurately. Do not omit treatment or give incomplete information to influence the outcome. If the doctor needs more information, follow the referral to the CML or request for additional assessment. A referral is a further review step, not a final finding of unfitness.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale is separate from the medical examination. It can help you study category B rules and quizzes, but it does not give medical advice or determine whether particular glasses, medication or conditions are compatible with driving. Those decisions belong to medical professionals and the official process.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale helps you revise category B quizzes and rules; the doctor assesses medical fitness and visual aids.
