Private candidate using a driving-school car: update the application
If a driving school will book the test or provide the vehicle, ask about the code-change procedure in the MIT circular.
A private candidate who switches to a driving school to book the test or use its vehicle must follow the administrative code-change procedure described in MIT circular 6935/2017. Update the application before booking and confirm which documents are needed.
The application should reflect who is arranging the test
MIT circular 6935 of 22 March 2017 describes administrative procedures for obtaining category B, including a change between private-candidate handling and services through a driving school. If you started the application yourself but now want the school to book the test or provide its car, an agreement with the school alone is not enough: the administrative record must be updated through the applicable procedure.
Give the driving school the details of your application and ask which documents are needed to change the code and use its test vehicle. The circular is a procedural reference, but offices may now carry out steps through updated systems and channels; confirm with the competent UMC which forms, payments or authorisations are currently required. Do not open a duplicate application or pay a new fee before checking whether an existing payment can be used.
Complete the change before booking
Ask for confirmation that your application is correctly associated with the driving school and that the requested code or service is recorded before a test is booked. Also check that the school car meets MIT requirements for the B test, including dual controls, and that the required instructor will be present. Using a school car does not itself make a booking or update your file.
Keep the change receipt, any authorisation and correspondence between the school and UMC. If you only want to use a car, without asking the driving school to manage the booking or application, ask whether the same procedure applies; do not automatically extend the circular’s specific case to every situation. Clarifying who submits the request beforehand prevents the candidate, school and office from holding conflicting records on test day.
