AM theory test: what to study before the quiz
Review signs, priority, safety and moped rules for the AM theory test, using the current official syllabus.
The AM theory test checks knowledge of the Italian Highway Code and rules for mopeds. Study by topic, answer quizzes with explanations and review mistakes. Theory preparation is separate from training for the practical test.
Topics to review
For an AM licence, prepare the subjects in the current test syllabus: road signs, right of way, junction behaviour, speed and traffic rules, vehicle documents and safety. Also review how to behave around pedestrians, turning traffic, level crossings and reduced visibility. Questions can ask you to apply a rule to a specific situation. Memorising a sentence without understanding its reason can make it easy to confuse similar cases.
Start with one chapter, read its explanation, then answer questions on that subject. When you make a mistake, note which condition you missed. A sign, for example, may apply only in one direction or may be accompanied by an additional panel. Review the rule and then try mixed questions. Use the official question bank and driving school materials to check that topics are current; do not rely on anonymous collections or questions remembered by other candidates.
A review plan and the limits of quizzes
Alternate short topic sessions with full mock tests. This lets you check both individual rules and your ability to read them in context. If a question seems unclear, check its wording and explanation instead of memorising an answer. Personal statistics can show which topics cause repeated mistakes, but they do not predict the official result. No number of completed quizzes guarantees that you will pass.
Theory is separate from the practical test. Passing quizzes does not teach you to control a moped, keep balance or perform test manoeuvres; those skills require suitable practice and instruction. If you continue to struggle with a rule, ask your teacher to explain it with an example. During the test, read each statement carefully, notice words such as “always” or “never”, and compare the claim with the rule you studied.
